How To Convert Your Document Into A PDF File
Because not everyone are using the same software, sharing and publishing documents on the internet becomes a complicated task. Fortunately, they can be converted into another format which allows any computer to view them.
PDF is the most popular file format used all over the world in publishing documents, most especially E-books, on the internet. Of course, PDF files wouldn't be in existence if there are no PDF file creators. To create a PDF file or to convert a Microsoft Word document into a PDF document, you will need either an Adobe Acrobat or a free converter you can find on the internet.
Using Adobe Acrobat
A PDF file can be read through an Adobe Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded and installed for free. However, the purpose of an Acrobat Reader is only for viewing and not for creating a PDF file.
Actually it is quite easy to create a PDF document or to convert a Microsoft Word document into a PDF file. You will need an Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer. Make sure that it is the full program and not just the Adobe Reader. If you don't have one, you can purchase it from the web site of Adobe.
First thing to do is open the Microsoft Word document that you want to convert. Click "File", then "Print". There will appear a dialogue box with a list of the printers connected to your computer. You will find Acrobat Distiller as one of the options. Just click on it to start the conversion. A few moments after, a dialogue box will appear asking you to save the document. You will notice that the file name is the same with the original Word document except it has a .puff extension. Change the file name if you want to. After selecting from the directory where you want to save the PDF file, click Save and you're done.
The Acrobat will automatically open displaying the saved file. You may want to do some final straw for example encrypting the file so that your reader won't be able to change it. This is much recommended if you're making the document to be sold as an E-book and you're not in favor of buyers altering the content.
Free Converters From The Internet
If you don't have an Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer, you can download another type of converter, such as PrimoPDF, from the internet free of charge. In fact, it works the same as what mentioned above and can also be used to convert other files like Excel, PowerPoint, and almost any other printable file.
Converting a document into a PDF file can also be done online through the Adobe site which offers a free trial for up to 5 document conversions.
