Maintaining An Organized Website

Maintaining An Organized Website

One of the services I offer my customers is to install scripts and help maintain their web sites.

What I find the first time I access their web site can only be describes as horrific!!

No file organization, no naming conventions, copies of files and redundant files everywhere.

It is important to maintain your web site in an organized and orderly fashion so that the ability to link your files together becomes a lot easier and efficient.

As a web visitor to a web site like http://www.easywebresources.com you won't notice all of the files that make up the web site but as owner and administrator I know exactly how the files are organized. There are dozens of files that make up that web site and I have seen some web sites that can have hundreds and even thousands of web pages, files and download documents so without some sort of organization you would be lost.

The first thing to do is to setup a web site structure in a logical way so you can find types of documents/files easily.

For example, most web sites contain some sort of images/graphics files that are used for headers or pictures so these types of files should be stored in a folder called (strangely enough) images.

Most good web hosting companies will provide you with a folder called cgi-bin. This folder generally is used for server side cgi scripts that add functionality to your web site. Things like guest book scripts, visitor counters etc. These scripts would be installed in the cgi-bin folder.

If you store documents on your web server then you might create a documents folder and store your online documents in there. If you write articles then you might have an articles folder as well.

So now we have the following folders -

images
cgi-bin
documents
articles

Of course these folders could have subfolders so you might have subfolders in your articles folder relating to each category you might write about e.g articles/health and artcles/computers etc.

You will also find that there are 'system' folder located with the folders you create. These system folders should be left alone because, as their name implies, they are used by your web server for system functions like storing your incoming email etc. If you are not sure of a particular folder the safer to leave it alone or ask your web host support.

Now when you access your web site using an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Program like WSFTP or SmartFTP, you will find it normally puts you 'sitting' just under the web root of your web site.

You can tell that by the folders you can see when you first log in. Generally you will see some sorts of mail folders (they will have mail in their names) and perhaps a log folder - these are examples of the 'system' folders I mentioned before.

This area under the web root is NOT accessible from the web so your web visitors would never see any of the files or folders that are located in here. It is a good place to store password files and other documents you wish to keep secure from the web.

There will also be a folder that is accessible from the web and it will be called something like 'xxxxxxxx-www' (where xxxxxxxx is your web site user name normally) or it could be called something like 'public_html'. If you are unsure then ask your web host support.

This public or web accessible folder is where you create your home pages and other web pages, files, articles and documents that you want web visitors to be able to access or that you want to create links to in your web pages.

So you FTP to your web site, click on the public folder to open it up and start creating your folder structure in there. As I mentioned earlier, if you are using a decent web hosting company, you should already see a cgi-bin folder there as a bare minimum.

I hope I have managed to stress the importance of keeping your web site organized and explained, at least a little, how your web site should be structured.

How to Create a Successful Internet Business.

How to Create a Successful Internet Business.

I am in the process of creating an Internet Business. Of course, my goal is for it to be successful. As with any business in the development stage, the first thing I need to do is develop a business model. The reason I need to do this first is that it describes the way in which my company makes money. After developing the model, I will have a map of what I need to do to be profitable. Developing a business model is critical. Because I am in the process of developing my own model, I thought it might be beneficial to other internet entrepreneurs if we work through the process together.

One of the best generic business models I have ever run across is the B-I Triangle, developed by Robert Kiyosaki with Sharon Lechter, introduced in “Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing” and explained very clearly in “Rich Dad’s Before You Quit your Job”. I highly recommend that every entrepreneur read “Before You Quit Your Job”, even if you have already quit. The reason the B-I Triangle is such a good business model is that the authors present the model in a very elegant, yet simple graphic that is easy to understand and remember. The model has five jobs that are required for success. These five jobs of a business are held together in a framework of a successful business.

The five jobs are product, legal, systems, communications, and cash flow. The framework holding the five jobs together are Mission, Leadership, and Team. Each one of these aspects of your business needs to be fully developed to create a truly successful business.

The remainder of this article briefly defines the aspects of the B-I Triangle in general terms to set the stage for the future articles. First listed are the five jobs of this business model. They are:

Product –Whatever you are offering your customer.

Legal – Includes multiple aspects of your business, beginning with the right entity structure for your business. You also need to remember other aspects of your business require legal support as well including copyrighting, partnerships, licensing, etc., just to name a few.

Systems – Business structure required to support your company.

Communications – Required to reach your customers. Also necessary for partners, investors, employees, vendors, and other people involved, even superficially, with your business venture.

Cash flow – The meat of the matter. Without positive cash flow your business will collapse.

The framework that holds your entire business together consists of Mission, Leadership, and Team.

Mission – The true purpose of your company

Team – People who support the purpose of your company and the jobs necessary for success.

Leadership – Multiple jobs including defining the company’s mission, creating the team, keeping the company strong, growing the company, etc.

This article is the first of in a series of nine articles designed to work through the eight aspects of business model as they relate to creating a successful internet business. I am writing these articles to help me develop my business model. Let’s work together and by the end of the series of articles, we both will have developed a model for many successful years of business.

Internet Phone Service: The Low Cost Alternative for Keeping in Touch

Internet Phone Service: The Low Cost Alternative for Keeping in Touch

Are you always looking for ways to save money without cutting back on the things that make you happy? Do you like to talk on the phone until your mouth is as dry as the desert sand? If you answered yes to these questions, then internet phone service is an ideal fit for you. It works over a high-speed internet connection and allows you to keep in touch with family and friends all over the world for pennies.

In order to enjoy the money saving benefits of internet phone service, you must have a high-speed internet connection, either broadband or DSL. Most Internet Phone Service Providers will then send you a Broadband Phone Adapter, or BPA (a device that resembles a modem) that will plug directly into a modem/router. Then, all you have to do is plug your existing phone into the adapter and you can start making calls. The set-up is really easy and usually takes less than five minutes for installation.

The misconception about internet phone service is that you need a computer to use the service. While it is true that most consumers who use internet phone service do have a computer, one is not required to make calls.

So, how much money are you really going to save with internet phone service versus traditional phone service? Most traditional phone companies usually charge between $20 and $30 a month for basic service. This doesn’t include any features like voicemail, call forwarding, call waiting, 3-way calling, etc. Nor does it include any long distance charges. Add these features up and a normal phone bill would typically cost $50 a month. And, if you ever need to disconnect your phone line or perhaps change your phone number because you are receiving unwanted telemarketing calls, you can expect even more fees.

With Internet Phone service, most providers charge between $20 and $25 a month. Not much difference than the traditional phone companies, right? Well, for this price you not only get all the features included, but unlimited calling in the United States and Canada as well. Not bad if you have friends and family living outside of your area code. Most consumers who use internet phone service can save as much as $500 a year and that is just the icing on the cake.

The cost savings of internet phone service is great. But even better is the ability to keep in touch with family and friends without the worries of high phone bills.

A Dummies Guide to Broadband Phone Service

A Dummies Guide to Broadband Phone Service

Did you know that the Internet can totally replace your existing phone line? With broadband phone service, you can make and receive telephone calls using a regular phone without the assistance of your local phone company. Instead, the phone plugs directly into a broadband internet connection, either cable or DSL. It’s easy, fast and affordable.

You need two things to turn your internet connection into a personal phone line: a subscription to broadband phone service and any traditional phone (analog or digital). Most service providers charge between $20 and $30 a month, not including additional taxes and fees.

Once connected and installed, broadband phone service works just like a regular phone: pick up the phone and you will hear a dial tone – dial a phone number – wait for the person to answer – and start talking. In most cases the person on the other line won’t even know that you are using broadband phone service; the quality is that good.

Some of the benefits of using broadband phone service include: unlimited calling to the U.S and Canada, free features like call waiting, caller id, call forwarding, follow me – find me, three-way calling, online bill pay, voicemail, voicemail to email notification, and the ability to choose your area code. This means that you can live in New York and have a California phone number. Most broadband phone service providers also offer a trial period or a 30-day money back guarantee.

Most, if not all, broadband phone service providers allow you to keep your current phone number; a process called local number portability (LNP). This process usually takes between six to eight weeks depending on the provider. If it takes any longer, most of the time it is the phone company that is releasing your phone number that is holding up the process.

Some additional features of broadband phone service are virtual numbers (a number in a different area code, that when dialed rings directly to your main number). Virtual numbers eliminate long-distance phone charges for anyone calling within that numbers' area code; and usually cost an additional $5 a month. Most broadband phone service providers also offer toll-free numbers and 411 directory assistance for a low monthly fee.

Due to the recent FCC regulations, all broadband phone service providers must have E911. What this means for you is that you if you subscribe to broadband phone service and dial 911, the call will be routed to the local public safety dispatcher with your address information pre-populating on their screen. When searching for a broadband phone service provider, ensure that they offer E911.

VoIP Explained Easily

VoIP Explained Easily

With the increased adoption of high-speed Internet across the U.S. and abroad, it has become much easier to send and receive large amounts of data without affecting bandwidth. What this means for consumers is that they can now download huge files quickly, browse multiple web pages simultaneously, and even make telephone calls over the Internet; an emerging technology known as VoIP.

VoIP stands for "Voice over Internet Protocol " and it is quite simply a way of using the Internet to make and receive telephone calls. The primary reason VoIP is becoming so popular is cost and convenience; as VoIP is significantly less expensive than typical local and long distance telephone service offered by the phone companies. Additionally, one high-speed Internet connection can serve for multiple VoIP telephone lines.

How does VoIP Work?

A normal telephone line would sit there and do nothing if it weren’t connected to a network called the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network). This is how the traditional phone companies route telephone calls from one person to another. In VOIP service, the PSTN is replaced by the Internet as the network for routing phone calls, and is proven to be faster, more efficient and cost effective.

Using VoIP, a person’s voice is transmitted into digital data that is then sliced into small fragments called packets that are sent across the Internet at lightning speed. These packets are then reconstructed and heard on the receiving phone. Sounds like allot going on during a phone conversation, but most people who use VoIP phones don’t even know they are making telephone calls over the Internet; the call quality is that good.

In order for VoIP phone calls to have the same quality that consumers are accustomed to when using traditional phone service, a certain bandwidth (the amount of data that can be sent) is required. Broadband Internet access, either cable or DSL, provides the necessary bandwidth for VoIP phone service to be found acceptable by consumers.

The Features of VoIP

In addition to making high-speed Internet access more cost-effective, VOIP service provides subscribers with significantly cheaper local and long distance telephone service. Most VoIP providers charge between $20 - $25 per month and this includes unlimited calling to the U.S. and Canada.

Additionally, all the features that traditional phone companies usually charge for like voicemail, caller id, call waiting; three-way calling, simultaneous ring and the ability to choose your own area code are included in the price.

Another driver for using VoIP is that it is portable. In other words, consumers can take their phone number anywhere they move to; even if it is just on vacation.

Cost savings, free features, portability – VoIP is the emerging technology at the root of all these trends, and consumers should expect to see a lot more news about VoIP in the coming months and years.

Features Of An iPhone Calendar

Features Of An iPhone Calendar

If you look at the photos of the brochure giving information regarding the Iphone and its calendar feature, it would seem that there is nothing really groundbreaking about it. But if you are wondering what the features are, here they are:

The iPhone calendar allows the user to organize his jam-packed schedule by day or by month, depending on his preference, and to the hour. All he has to do is tap the hour or the day. He can also tweak the locations, the titles, as well as the start and the end time of the alert settings of the event he has inputted into his phone.

Setting the time and the day on the iPhone calendar is so easy and fun. All the owner has to do is to flick the two wheels to the desired minute and hour. There is also the calendar functions such as the To-Do or Task list making it more organized than ever.

Additional features are the following:

1. There is a Day / Week / Month and view button, also a Today button.
2. The calendar utilizes dot in order to represent the event that was marked on that day of the month.
3. There is a plus button which could be used in order to add events.
4. At the top of the screen is the time.
5. The current month has a blue highlight.
6. Shows the user the events mapped out for the day.

Another feature is that there is the iCal dock icon which shows the date and reminds the user of his itinerary. This is simply one of the subtle touches powerhouse Apple has put into its iPhone.

The calendar on the home screen also constantly shows the day of the week. There may be blurry picture though. If you are one of those people who has a hard time remembering what month we are in, the iPhone calendar will definitely become your best friend in no time.

However, there are minor glitches such as the incompatibility of the iPhone to the PC, Windows XP and outlook. The originating calendar event must be set from the apple for better compatibility. This is the only way to resolve the problem. After all, it is an iPhone. It works better with MACs than with PCs. This saves you from the possibility of entirely messing up your iPhone, or worse yet, your MAC.

Presenting The iPhone Camera

Presenting The iPhone Camera

Techies are hooked on camera phones because each model is more and more impressive than the previous ones. Take for example the Apple iPhone camera. It has 2 mega-pixels and a fabulously designed image management software. It can also sync the images to the computer and email them.

Here is a more elaborate rundown of the features of the Apple iPhone camera:

Image Quality

It has 2 mega-pixels. It may not be the best and the hottest out there, but it is definitely better than the camera phones on the market today. The best model so far has 1.3 mega-pixels. Some may even have less than a mega-pixel.

As an owner of the Apple iPhone, you shouldn't expect to have great and clear prints. The advantage to having an iPhone is that the pictures are perfect for Web sharing as well as email.

Image Management

Most of the camera phones on the market today have the most basic features of the image management software. This is the ability to review, save, delete and send the images. Now the iPhone camera pushes the envelope further.

Camera iPhones have a gallery that is similar to a play-list like because the images can be grouped by subject. You can also crop the pictures and send them while they're right on screen.

The photos can be turned into wallpaper. These can also be emailed to friends. These can also be assigned to the phonebook contact. The screen measuring 3.5 inches can actually let you see the pictures on-screen. You don't have to squint in order to see the images because they aren't as tiny as that of the other camera phones.

Picture Sharing

Another special feature of the iPhone camera is that it can be hooked up into the computer in order to move the images. The iPhone gives the user the choice of either a 4GB and 8GB. It can also save a good number of pictures, as long as they haven't been resized or from high-mega-pixel cameras.

There are many options on how you can share the pictures from the iPhone camera. It's not just through SMS or MMS. There's the email option too. You can also get the on-screen keyboard in order to type in the messages.

The iPhone works best with email accounts from pop as well as these email services: Apple.Mac mail, Google gmail, AOL mail, Microsoft Exchange and Yahoo Mail.

iPhone's Deal With Cingular

iPhone's Deal With Cingular

Cingular confirmed that iPhone won't be sold to customers without a 2 year binding contract with the provider. Therefore, the Apple iPhone requires its buyers to sign a two-year plan with Cingular. If not, then the model won't be sold to them.

Users will most likely opt for the data plan in order to use the iPhone's internet features. The current plans offered by Cingular have a rate that is as small as $9.99 to as much as $39.99 for every month. Users have Internet access because the iPhone provides them with the tools they need.

Cisco also has the rights to iPhone wherever Internet telephones are concerned. However it is still Apple that uses the iPhone name when it applies to cellular phones.

Apple believes this it the combining of the mobile phone and the widescreen iPod along with the Internet devices. This is proof that technology keeps on getting better and better.

The iPhone is so cool. In fact, just one example of its nifty features is the fact that it runs on the version of Mac OS X and it uses gestures in order to navigate throughout the interface. You can zoom into the Google map and then squeeze your fingers together.

The Apple iPhone is a dream phone for most but there are a lot of complications for the consumer. For one, the price is very expensive. There are two models and the cheapest one is $499. The second problem is that in order for the consumer to buy the gadget in his hands, he must sign first with Cingular. It is a binding contract for two years.

This is a major problem for some people because the Cingular provider doesn't have that much presence in some areas, particularly North Dakota. The closest stores they have there is in between the Twin Cities. There are some states that are stuck with Sprint, Alltel and Verizon.

Out of all the providers, Verizon gives the best coverage but this is the last carrier on the priority list of the Apple iPhone. Just consider yourself lucky if you are available to buy the phone then sign up for the contract with Cingular.

If not, you can always download ring tones and wallpapers. Who says you can't have fun on other model phones? It may not be an Apple iPhone but it will definitely do your calling and your texting for you.

The New Breed Of Cellular Telephones

The New Breed Of Cellular Telephones

Years ago, Apple revolutionized the way people looked at portable music with the introduction of the revolutionary Ipod. This year, Apple has once again made a bid to create a gadget that may set the standards for the next generation. Their offering is known as the Iphone. Blending the best features of the Ipod with a cellular telephone, internet browser, and some PDA functions, the Iphone may very well change the way people look at cellular telephones forever.

Simple Interface And Display Screen In One

One of the first things a user will notice about the Ipod is it's distinct lack of physical buttons. Aside from a small volume control knob and a power/standby switch, the main interface of the Ipod is interlinked with it's display. The Ipod's surface is just a 3.5 inch LCD screen with a touch sensitive over layer. The overlay is specifically designed to react to the touch of skin, so a stylus is unnecessary; your fingers are all the tools you'll need to operate the unit.

GUI Is More Like A PC Than A Cell Phone

The Iphone's menu is fairly user friendly, though it may be confusing at first for people who are used to the standard interface employed by conventional cell phones. Instead, the menu options for the Iphone are more akin to the structure of a PC, with a button for switching to phone mode, another for activating the internet browser (the Iphone is Wifi enabled), digital camera, or Ipod for playing music and videos. Scrolling through menus is also easy, as the entire surface of the screen can be manipulated with your fingers like a laptop's touchpad.

Ties In Internet Capabilities With Phone Features

The Iphone has tie ins with google and yahoo for email capability and easy internet browsing, and it's main browser program is safari. The email capability comes in handy because Iphone users don't need to rely simply on SMS and calling to contact people; they can chat online or send emails. On a related note, Iphone users can tie in their email contacts address book to the phone's memory list of phone numbers.

Integral Memory And Battery

The phones, similar to Ipods, don't utilize memory sticks or cards, instead they use a stable built in memory. The Iphones currently come in 4 and 8 gigabyte models, though later models will exceed these capacities. Also like an Ipod, the batteries of an Iphone are integral, and have much longer lives than conventional cell phone batteries. With all of these features mixed into one package, the Iphone is set to take cell phones into the next generation.

The Pros And Cons Of The iPhone's Competition

The Pros And Cons Of The iPhone's Competition

With the advent of the iPhone all set to take the "portable gadget" world by storm, other companies have chosen to set themselves against the potential offered by Apple's iPhone. With it's ability to fuse the best features of an Ipod, cell phone, PDA, and internet browser in one package, the iPhone's competition will be hard pressed to go head to head with this upcoming new technology. Here are some reviews on their offers:

Verizon

Verizon's LG KE850 utilizes a similar touch-screen concept to the iPhone. However, due to the company's specialization in PDAs, it's primary focus is more on a PDA that also has cell phone capabilities. To date, it lacks the MP3 player feature that the iPhone boasts. However, it will have swappable memory sticks, allowing for easier upgrades than on an iPhone. It takes a more business oriented approach as opposed to the iPhone's "for fun loving casual users" approach.

Samsung

Samsung's i760 and upcoming F700 look like they will give the iPhone it's stiffest competition. With plenty of experience in the cell phone industry, samsung's offer takes a more mainstream approach to cell phone design that will be instantly familiar with users. The iPhone's biggest drawback is that some features that mainstream cell phone users take for granted are either missing, replaced, or modified in the iPhone, requiring a new learning curve to operate. Samsung's control system will be much easier for old hand cell phone enthusiasts to operate.

Others

The two entries above are solid models that expect to see production alongside the Iphone. The biggest possible threat to the Iphone, however, lies in the other cell phone and PDA giants that have to date remained quiet about any offers they may have to go against the Iphone. Nokia and Sony Ericsson are well known for stable and high end products that set their own share of standards in the cell phone industry. They seem to be taking a "wait and see" approach.

Given this philosophy, quite a number of mixed reviews have come out regarding the iPhone since it's initial release in June, 2007. While some reviews are good, quite a number of them are also negative and have to do with various issues regarding the Iphone. These complaints include things like having an inconvenient interface, non-upgradeable memory and battery, and software incompatibility issues on the Iphone's browser. If the quiet giants decide to make an offer, the odds are fairly high they will seek to make products designed similar to the Iphone but with none of it's perceived weaknesses.

MAC's iPhone: Still Needs A Lot Of Work!

MAC's iPhone: Still Needs A Lot Of Work!

When it first came out in June 2007, Apple's Iphone seemed to hold the promise of becoming the next evolution of the cellular telephone. It promised to blend the best features of three handy gadgets that have become essential in modern day society; the Ipod, PDAs, and Cellular Telephones. However, the Iphone has fallen short of user expectations, and unless Apple takes steps to correct these problems based on user feedback, the Iphone could become another footnote in gadget history.

Touch Interface Can Be Inconvenient

One of the user complaints is that the Iphone's interface is a touch sensitive screen that uses ONLY skin contact to register an entry. The original intent was to make a stylus unnecessary, but the end result is a bit of inconvenience for users, who NEED to use their bare fingers to operate the Iphone. This naturally makes it difficult to use with greasy or dirty hands, and impossible when wearing gloves.

No Upgrade Options For Memory Or Batteries

Another user complaint is that the Iphone's battery is similar to most Ipods, meaning it is an internal battery that the user can't replace, and MUST take back to an Apple shop to have it replaced when it expires. Right alongside this issue is the fact that the Iphone's storage capacity comes in only two brackets, 4 and 8 gigabytes. The memory, like the battery, is built into the system and can't be replaced by users. In a world where memory sticks/cards for upgrades to MP3 players and cellular phones are all the rage, this is a huge disadvantage for the Iphone.

Online Incompatibility Issues

A third category that often sees user complaints is the internet aspect of the Iphone. It boasts Wifi capability, but unfortunately also supports AT&T's EDGE technology, which despite upgrades to their transmission system remains extremely slow. The browser used is safari, which has a decent and stable platform, but the Iphone doesn't support Flash and Java, limiting the browsing options of Iphone users.

Not A Good Phone For Mainstream Cell Phone Users

Lastly, the Iphone lacks certain features that are mainstays in most modern cellular telephones. These missing features include bluetooth file transfer capability and bluetooth transmission of sound files to an audio player, GPS capability, and even the simple ability to program MP3s and set them as ring/SMS tones. Ultimately, while the Iphone has many features that modern cellular phones lack, this inattention to details which have become comfortable and convenient for most users may spell the Iphone's downfall unless they are corrected soon.

iPhone Innovative Concepts

iPhone Innovative Concepts

The newly released Iphone by Apple has some of the most innovative concepts that have come out in the cell phone industry to date. Much like their Ipod took the portable music industry by storm several years back, the Iphone now promises that Apple will be setting new standards that other cell phone manufacturers will be trying to emulate.

Fusion Of 3 Technologies

The biggest selling point of the Iphone is that it fuses 3 major technologies that are often found separately into one package. The Iphone is a portable music player (literally an Ipod), a cellular telephone, and a PDA with internet browsing capability. While some cell phones to date have mixed some of these technologies together in pairs, the Iphone is the first of it's kind to successfully fuse them all.

LCD Screen Is GUI And Skin Sensitive

The main interface method of the Iphone is distinct because of it's lack of manual buttons. Instead, it employs a 3.5 inch touch sensitive LCD screen that can be manipulated directly by touch like a PDA. However, unlike a PDA this unit's screen is skin-sensitive, and doesn't respond to contact with anything except skin. This makes a stylus unnecessary. Furthermore, the skin-sensitive surface also has detectors which scan surface areas near the phone, and switches the interface off when near your face to keep you from accidentally pressing a button when you're making a call.

Mixing Online Capabilities With Phone Features

The Iphone's internet browsing capability is Wifi supported, and it mixes internet browsing features with some cellular telephone features. For example, SMS can be edited to look like chat format for easy reference. For another, the address book on your email can be linked to your contact list, making it a snap to find a person's contact information. Added to this, Apple has contracts with google and yahoo for specialized Iphone services, like accessing goggle maps via your Iphone.

Mixing The Ipod's Versatility With The Browser And Camera

Lastly, even the common gadgets that are added features for most cell phones today have been mixed with the Iphone's features. For example, downloading songs to your Iphone's Ipod MP3 player no longer requires an external link to a PC since you can browse using your Iphone. Similarly, the Iphone has a camera that acts as a digital cam-corder and playback is done through the Ipod features on the Iphone. This unified system ensures that the Iphone is more than just a bunch of machines glued together. The individual parts all interact seamlessly with each other.

Iphone Aesthetics And Design: Simplicity And Functionality

Iphone Aesthetics And Design: Simplicity And Functionality

The iPhone, despite all of it's new technological features and groundbreaking concepts, surprises a lot of people who see it for the first time. Expecting something either insanely compact which folds out like a transformers toy, or something fairly large with protrusions that look like a science fiction novel concept machine. They are instead confronted with a small, thin, rectangular device. Period. Looking like a souped-up Ipod and nothing more, the iPhone's simplicity hides a multitude of features behind it's simple facade.

Extremely Streamlined Profile

The iPhone was designed along the same lines as an Ipod. It's meant to be extremely functional and convenient while avoiding the "high tech" look that quite a few telephones try to achieve. It's simply a thin rectangular device with no protrusions, very few buttons, and a large screen covering most of one side. Naturally, it also has a few plug ports for external devices like Bluetooth headsets and the like, but that's about it.

The Screen Is Both Display And Interface

The main reason why the iPhone's design is so simple is because the large LCD screen that makes up one face of the iPhone is both it's display and main means of interface. The 3.5 inch LCD screen is touch sensitive, and requires no stylus. It can be manipulated with one's fingers. The menu on the screen can be used to select different modes for the iPhone, switching from using it as an Ipod to a Phone or as a web browser. This allows for a much simpler design to the phone, as opposed to some other competing multi-use phones which actually use slide-out panels with miniature keyboards and even built in track balls for cursor movement.

Integral Components

The third design principle behind the iPhone's simplicity could be both good or bad depending on the perspective of the user. You see, the unit's memory and batteries are integral to the unit and can't be replaced or upgraded except by taking them to an Apple shop. On the one hand, this makes the iPhone much more stable and allows for higher battery capacities and more memory space with less bulk. On the other hand, some users appreciate the convenience of carrying additional memory sticks and batteries as spares. This feature has been a major point of attack by critics of the iPhone, but by and large those who have purchased iPhones often find the built in memory space and battery life are more than sufficient for their day to day needs.

A Lesser Known Advantage Of The iPhone: Dual Mode Access!

A Lesser Known Advantage Of The iPhone: Dual Mode Access!

Okay, we all know about the main features of the iPhone that are now poised to turn it into the next big thing in the cell phone industry. By fusing the best traits of a cell phone, Ipod, and internet browser-enabled PDA in one handy package, the Ipod has generated huge waves since it's initial public release in June 2007. A lesser know fact about the iPhone, however, is the peripherals that can be bought for it, as well as the growing support that this new breed of phone is getting from phone company giants like AT&T.

One of the most important sideline applications that can be run with an iPhone is dual mode internet telephony. Under old circumstances, a standard telephony kit is simply using an internet connection, especially Wifi, to make a call instead of using a regular phone line. Internet telephony systems often don't make use of a standard telephone unit either, instead relying on a headset and a program that simulates a phone's numeric pad to dial. A telephony can contact anyone, though restrictions can be limited to other subscribers to the provider's telephony system, or can access even regular phone lines for an added cost.

Telephony services are treated as a separate entity from using regular phone services for making phone calls, but they also offer more features like video teleconferencing, live chatrooms and such that make telephony use more appealing to some people than regular phone lines.

Now that we know WHAT telephony services are, how does this tie in to the iPhone? Simple. Imagine being able to access telephony numbers, lines and services through your cellular telephone. This is one of the additional features that the iPhone have to offer. Most people don't know about this, or talk about it less compared to the Iphone's other features, but it's there. At the moment Apple's major partner is AT&T, so users are currently limited to using only telephony services from AT&T. However, other companies that offer telephony and related services like Skype are starting to create programs and hardware that are intended to be fully compatible with the iPhone and it's features.

Given that, it's only a matter of time before video teleconferencing in boardrooms becomes a thing of the past, as the iPhone will enable people to take advantage of it's dual mode telephony access no matter where they may be on the globe. The impact of the iPhone may be more far reaching than most people suspect.

The Advent Of GSM iPhones

The Advent Of GSM iPhones

Since the talk of the possibility of iPhone came about, many people have been concerned about the latest Apple craze. People who are current users of the GSM technology are glad to know that the latest Apple product is a GSM iPhone.

The iPhone Technology

There is so much to desire in the iPhone. This is considered as the best thing that's happened to people who are very particular in the performance and features of their gadgets. The iPhone combines the best of iPod technology with the cellular phone device.

The iPhone can also take pride in its various features that make it stand out from the rest of the cellular phones on the market. The Bluetooth and wi-fi options add more flexibility to the internet connectivity of the iPhone. The great user interface design also attracts people who are particular with the aesthetics of the gadget. The iPhone can also be enjoyed with its games, messaging and image browsing.

Given these wonderful features that can be found in the iPhone, the clamoring market also anticipated the technology that the iPhone will adapt. This is a crucial aspect because it largely determines who can use the iPhone and if network switching will be effected.

The GSM iPhones

Stated simply, iPhones are made to use the GSM technology. To most of the countries in the world, the GSM standard is the given. Those countries can very well expect that Apple iPhone can be used in their countries. As to the people in the United States, the GSM iPhone makes the gadget available only to networks that make use of the GSM technology, to the exclusion of CDMA users.

There are four major networks in the United States. The list includes Verizon, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile and Cingular. These four are still further comprised of different networks and technologies. Thus, most of the cellular phones in the United States can only serve the use of a network that adapts the technology the gadget supports.

This is why the iPhone is limited to the use of those networks that have the GSM technology. The network providers seem to have limited the availability of the iPhone for the users.

Conclusion

The GSM technology may have limited the iPhone to certain networks that support the specifications of the gadget. However, given the features of the iPhone, it may end up influencing the people with regard to their choice of networks.

Hacking The iPhone

Hacking The iPhone

Angelina Jolie's 1995 movie (way before she became Mrs. Pitt) was a prelude to what the world will be like in a span of a decade. Because most of our lifestyle is controlled by technology, there are also computer geniuses who use their talents to hack this information.

A perfect example are those hackers who have been working hard on the recently released iPhone. They quickly discovered the two disk images that composed the restoring image system of the mobile phone. They figured out the size of the ram disk and on how it kick starts the images that have been taken.

There are also hackers who do their best to hack into the iTune system of the Apple iPhone. They devote time and energy in order for them to lurk into the inner workings of the phone model. Hackers aren't actively involved in the construction of the contraption, thus they lurk.

The other reason hackers enjoy sifting through the technology of the Apple iPhone is that the function can easily be accessed by the Ajax widgets. There are only a few people who are capable of exploring the JavaScript system. This includes the hacker Joe Hewitt who released the Firebug to the iPhone. Some experienced hackers use their computers in order to debug the messages into the desktop browser which they execute on the JavaScript commands for the iPhone.

The Solution

People at iPhone are doing their best and spending extra working hours in order to figure out how the iPhone can escape the clutches of the hackers (to protect their customers.) As of now, they have been succeeding partially. IN fact, they are testing their phones in order to check whether data can be hacked from the mobile and into the computer by the hackers.

But there are benefits from the hacking of the iPhone because more people will be able to enjoy the corporate rates. These aren't available to most because of the exclusive two year contract binding the phone model with Cingular. It's too early to know which features of the iPhone won't work well with the iPhone hack since there have been reports that the Visual voicemail as well as the restoring of data is still functioning.

The problems hackers cause may affect the base band but the radio chipset of the iPhone can still be offset. As long as the hackers don't enter the chatroom feature, as well as the texting capability of the iPhone, then there is no serious problem.

A Turn In Technology: The iPhone Launch

A Turn In Technology: The iPhone Launch

June 29, 2007, techies and businessmen were all lined up in order to be the first customers to purchase the Apples coveted iPhone. Some wondered whether it was the cost. For those who were there, it didn't matter.

It all started with the iPod. Nobody knew how influential the little gadget would be in the world of technology. Some were expecting the same from the iPhone. They claim that its launch is the start of a new revolution, therefore all the hype over it.

Apple has invested a lot of time and money on its new do-everything mobile phone that has a touch sensitive screen. It comes in third, after the Macintosh computer and the iPod music players, as the core business that is sure to make money for the company.

For those who have no techie vein in their body, trying to work the iPhone is a challenge. But for those who have been anticipating its release, holding it in their hands is like being a child in a candy store.

Before its release, the apple iPhone had began chatter, discussions and parodies on TV as well as in online forum boards. It was unveiled in January and since then, expectations for it have become another blockbuster project. It was a good move for the company because their stock rose 40 percent.

There are two models. The 4-gigabyte model can be bought for $499 whereas the 8 gigabyte version can be purchased for $599. However, the iPhone is only available for customers who have a two-year plan with Cingular. This is the phones exclusive carrier.

Before the year ends, Apple expects to boost its iPhone sales by improving the features and refining the models. This was what they did with iPod which generated record profits.

However, unlike their stab at music players, there is stiff competition for Apple when it comes to selling their mobile phones. This comes in the form of the well-established giants like Motorola Inc. and Nokia Corp.

Apple is fully aware that with the interest from the techie customers that are being generated, their sales will increase over time. The more publicity, they get, the more cash they will rake in. That is how the business works.

It helps that they were in the right place at the right time and in the right manner, they were able to contribute yet again another technological advance.

Learn The Limitations Before You Buy Of The iPhone

Learn The Limitations Before You Buy Of The iPhone

Can the latest must-have gadget be less than the perfect machine it's purported to be? The iPhone is on top of many people's most wanted list but is it worth all that money and hype? It's a machine with a lot of muscle but even the top contender for our hearts and wallets has its limits. Here are some of the iPhone's limitations in case you're seriously thinking of buying:

The Service Provider

AT&T has an exclusive rights on the iPhone so it means switching to Cingular. If you are currently have an agreement with your current provider, you could be charged for giving up without waiting for your lock-in period to expire.

One service provider will also limit the use of your iPhone while traveling. For now, the iPhone is only operational in the US. You'll need a new sim card if you'll be traveling to Europe or Asia and you'll just have to swallow the big roaming charges it will cost you.

Another iPhone limitation is the network coverage. If AT&T's service in your area isn't that good, you could have some difficulty downloading and watching movies on your iPhone. There's a built-in Wi-Fi you can use, though.

Speaking of the internet, you're also only allowed 10MB for viewing a webpage. You can also only run JavaScript for about 5 seconds.

Taking Photos

The iPhone is also a camera phone but it can only handle a measly 2 mega pixels, versus other cell phones and smart phones that boast 3 to 4 mega pixels.

Just 2G

Apple sacrificed having 2G instead of 3G so it can offer the widest possible coverage. That is, until after 3G becomes more widely available. If you want 3G, you'll have to wait for the next iPhone version.

Storage

Storage on the iPhone is also limited. If you're the type of user who likes to store videos and songs, it probably won't be long until you fill your iPhone memory to capacity.

It's A Closed Platform

If you're a download-happy phone user, the iPhone will put a damper on your spirits. It works on a closed platform so no downloading of games, RSS readers, browsers from third parties or other applications.

The Price

It's a status symbol now and not the kind of phone you can give away as a gift or ask for on your birthday unless you've got lots of money. If you want to go for the lower-priced model at $500, you won't get the extra 4GB of memory like the $600 model.

Imagining The iPhone: iPhone Mockups All Missed The Real Design

Imagining The iPhone: iPhone Mockups All Missed The Real Design

Ever wondered how people thought the iPhone would look before its release? Curiosity is sometimes a wonderful thing, especially if it turns creative imagination into a work of art or hilarity. When you're faced with a gadget conceived in such secrecy, you probably have more reason to let your imagination run wild. It's a way to express your hope and silliness.

No Hits, All Misses

It's interesting to note that of the dozens of mockups that have appeared, none actually hit the mark. One mockup even showed the iPhone as a 1 +" square device that could be attached to the lapel, while others didn't stray too far from showing the iPhone as a slim cell phone with too little or too many buttons.

Other than the shape, probably the most missed part of the iPhone mockup are the buttons. All mockups that appeared before the release showed an iPhone with at least four buttons and the actual iPhone only has one. The other design miss was the screen. Almost all iPhone mockups used half of the real estate on the front, with the buttons occupying the other half.

Cell Phone Look-Alikes

The iPhone is primarily a phone, which is why most mockups that appeared online are versions of today's phones. A few photos were scanned copies of other phones (particularly Nokia models) applied with the iPod button on the bottom half.

Another popular mockup was that of a sliding cell phone with a keypad on the other half. One design even includes a tiny QWERTY keyboard to complete the design. Some mockups also offered a clam-style iPhone with the Apple logo in front.

The iPod Clone

Many mockup creators didn't stray too far from the iPod design. Most iPhone mockups that got popular votes on the internet looked like an iPod with a keypad and a headset. Again, the screen just appears on half of the device.

Cross Breeds

Again, no straying from the original iPod design here, except that the designers decided to marry the iPod to the cell phone of their choice.

Things You Can Expect From The iPhone's OS

Things You Can Expect From The iPhone's OS

As you know by now, the iPhone runs on OS X from Mac, which Apple says is an optimized version specifically designed for its highly anticipated mobile phone. Now you're probably wondering if that is a good thing for you or if the word 'optimized' is something you should be wary about.

Memory And The iPhone's OS

The iPhone is available in two versions; the 4GB and the 8GB. Mac OS X alone should occupy about 400 to 500 MB. That would leave your iPhone with about 3.5 or 7.5 GB of free memory. That should be something to think about once you start using your iPhone to store music and videos. If you're planning on watching a full season of your favorite TV shows on your iPhone, it won't be long until you push your phone's capacity.

Another thing you should know is that the OS X 'optimized' version is probably not the full version, whether you're using version 10.4 or 10.5. There is no way a full version of OS X can be run on the iPhone if it's only using a mere 500 MB of memory. However, that doesn't mean this OS X version is lame. The optimized version you'll be getting is the OS X without the unnecessary stuff like libraries, framework and hardware drivers you won't be using or needing on the iPhone.

Operating The OS X On The iPhone

Forget the keypad on your old smart phone. The iPhone's OS can be operated without the use of a button. There is no cursor, no windows and no menu.

What's This 'Optimized' OS X Version?

You'll get additional stuff you won't find in the full version of the OS X. The iPhone, for example, is operated using a multi-touch screen and since there's no keypad, you'll have to rely on the onscreen keyboard. Since the iPhone can automatically change orientation depending on the way it is held, drivers for its sensors are also present.

In short, what you'll be getting is the version of the OS X that is just perfect for use with your iPhone. It's not the Mac OS X because what you have in your hand isn't a Mac notebook, it's the iPhone. It may be the super phone, but really, would you be using it to Photoshop your vacation photos?

Should Windows Users Be Turned Off?

For many Windows users, Mac has always been 'the other' OS. But Windows users don't need to scratch the iPhone off their list. The way it's built to function has nothing to do with whether you're a Mac or PC user. You should be able to use the onboard OS X with ease.

iPhone Patent: A Guide To How The iPhone Was Built

iPhone Patent: A Guide To How The iPhone Was Built

With a gadget like the iPhone, it would probably come as no surprise that it has plenty of patents attached to it. Aside from its design and accompanying image and logos, there are also patents for its features and uses. But 200 patents? When there are too many of these, you're probably thinking, 'Hey, is the iPhone an invention?'

Innovation But Not An Invention

Although the iPod is officially a success, let's remember that Apple was not the inventor of MP3 players. What they did was make technology look good and usable, which probably shows why they gave so much thought to the design and functionality of their iPhone. As for the innovation part, of course Apple would want to patent their contribution. After all, nobody knew how the iPhone would appear or how it would work.

Getting To Know The iPhone

Probably the best way to learn about something is to get a copy of its list of patents and find out from the bottom up how it works. The iPhone's patent application with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, for one, will show everything from how the iPhone can be unlocked to how to gesture to operate the phone.

For example, simply running your finger over the iPhone won't always work. The patent reveals that are a pre-defined set of gestures required. A user will need to use these gestures to lock, unlock, drag, pan, scroll up or down, zoom in or out. Swiping and sweeping at certain points on the display, for example, will result in different commands.

Another significant patent of the iPhone is the sensor technology it utilizes on its phone. This allows the phone to change orientation during manipulation and to sense if the user is holding it next to the ear. This is a rather controversial patent and not something Quantum is happy about. Quantum is using the patented charge transfer technology, which is similar to the way the iPhone sensing technology works.

More Patents Coming

With a gadget as capable as the iPhone, expect more patent applications to be filed. The most recent was a patent to use the iPhone for the display of lyrics, which probably means iPhone karaoke may be in our future. The patent includes the identification of the audio file to be played and the retrieval of the related lyrics file, among others.

If you want to see a complete description of the iPhone patent, check the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office publication online. The technical description of the iPhone will let you imagine the device piece by piece and see how Apple intended the phone to work.

The iPhone's Here: Is The Price Right?

The iPhone's Here: Is The Price Right?

When you buy the iPhone, you won't only be paying for just a cell phone, you'll be paying for an iPod, a camera, an organizer and a laptop all in one gadget. But all that functionality comes with a price, of course and a hefty one at that. So is the iPhone worth it and is there any chance Apple might want to cut the price in a few months?

Pricing a most-wanted gadget doesn't have to be tricky. Build it and they will come, right? And come they did. For the price of just $499 and $599 (plus the monthly phone service charges from Cingular), you'll get the full strength of Apple's newest baby, probably the world's most expensive phone.

And what a baby it is. For that price tag, you'll get plenty of nice things to love about the phone like the 8.9 cm touch screen, the software, the functions, features and of course, the way it will up your status symbol.

Why The iPhone's Price Should Put You Off

Before its release, there had been plenty of talk about how the iPhone's price could limit its attractiveness to consumers. However, with the kind of reception it has received, it's far from becoming a failure. For the kind of money you'll have to fork over to buy the iPhone, you'll probably gripe about its memory (just 4MB and 8MB). That means you'll have to spend $100 more if you want an extra 4MB. It also uses 2G, not 3G technology. If you prefer the bells and whistles of 3G, you might be just a wee bit disappointed with the iPhone. Yes, it is expensive but considering that plenty of people spent the same amount of money for the iPod, there's no reason why they wouldn't spend for a gadget that does so much more. If the price is a turn off now, you can always wait until a cheaper or better iPhone emerges in the future.

Is A Price Cut Going To Happen In The Future?

It's difficult to say if Apple will slash the iPhone's price, although some market research companies like iSuppli predict they will. If the pricing scheme of the most wanted gadgets in the past is something to go by, there might also be reason to hope that iPhone's price will go down even as features improve. Remember the iPod? Its selling price when it first came out was $399. It has gone down by almost half since then. Will the iPhone be next? That remains to be seen.

Pros & Cons Of Getting An iPhone

Pros & Cons Of Getting An iPhone

The queues have since gone away and now that about 700,000 people are official owners of the iPhone, it's probably time for the moment of truth. What are its pros and cons and for that hefty price tag, what are you getting, what are you paying for and is it all worth it? Here are some pros and cons you might want to know about:

Pros

The appearance. It's sleek, sexy and very elegant, the kind of phone you'll be glad to flash around in front of your boss. The glass you'll be using for viewing is scratch-proof and the phone itself is light yet substantial. And at just 12mm thick (maybe less), it's as supermodel thin as it is lovely.

Ease of use. The iPhone is a button-less phone, except for one unobtrusive Home button located just below the touch screen. To type messages, you'll have to use a QWERTY touch screen keyboard. Using just one finger, you can expand the view on any webpage you like.

The screen. The real estate is maximized on the front of the phone. At 8.9 cm, there's enough room to view your messages, video or webpage. The resolution is also excellent for its size. Another neat trick is that the orientation of the screen also automatically changes if you shift its position, so you can shift from a portrait or landscape view. The multi-touch allows you freedom to zoom in, out or pan at will.

Features. Usability is tops. There's plenty of va-va-voom features to play with. After all, the iPhone is a phone, iPod and laptop computer in one hand-held device and there's plenty of widgets to utilize and have fun with. You'll have the power of the Safari web browser along with access to Google's search engine and map services, among others.

Cons

The platform. The iPhone operates on a closed platform so no downloading for you. If there's a mobile phone game you've been dying to play, forget it. All updates you will be getting will come directly from Apple, so no third party applications or other programs to customize your phone. On the other hand, this keeps your phone safe.

Connectivity. It's a 2G so if you're used to 3G technology, you might be disappointed. However, that also means you've got lots of battery time. You can also decide to buy the iPhone now or wait till the 3G iPhone becomes available.

The price. Buying an iPhone is analogous to hiring Gisele Bundchen for a photo shoot meaning it'll cost you.

Features. Buy the iPhone if you can make full use of its features. Otherwise, you will be stuck with a gadget that might be too much to handle.

Short Review Of The iPhone

A Short Review Of The iPhone

There are probably few gadgets that were subjected to the kind of scrutiny that the iPhone has experienced. After all, this is the Jesus phone, capable of doing a lot of things we only dreamed of. But can it really live up to the hype and the hysteria?

The iPhone is quite revolutionary, pushing the edge of available technology and making a lot of things available to users. But as we all know, technology is give and take. Something's got to give somehow. It has lots of features ordinary phones have but it also lacks some of the basics so common in ordinary phones.

First Impressions Last.

The iPhone is so sleek, thin and pretty that if you have big, rough hands you might be a little hesitant to touch it. It's basically a computer in your hand. You can call, send text messages, check and send e-mails, play music, watch videos and take pictures. It also functions as a web browser and organizer. Its software is simple and quite easy to operate. Basically, with an iPhone you can function on your own without your secretary or your laptop.

More Eye Candy

Everything about the iPhone is pleasing to the eyes, especially its 8.9 cm screen and its functionality. The screen reacts to your touch. In fact, the iPhone only has one Home button. Everything you need to do with it, you will have to tell it by touch. Your finger can choose a command, pinch or expand the screen, open a message, flip through choices and otherwise tell your nifty gadget what to do.

Near-Perfect Or Near-Miss?

The iPhone has a lot of features an entry-level user may find intimidating. However, it is lacking a few functionalities that experienced smart phone users will miss. The iPhone's available memory (4MB and 8MB), for example, may not be enough for voracious users of iTunes and video. It also operates 2G technology, something 3G users will find disappointing.

You will also be stuck with AT&T's Cingular because the iPhone only operates using this provider. Every plan you buy has a lock-in period of two years. The iPhone also uses a closed platform which means every update or additional program you'll receive will come from Apple and Apple only.

All in all, this is a must-have phone IF:

a) you really do need and can use all or most of the features,
b) you don't mind spending $500 or $600 for a phone and
c) you don't mind being limited to just one service provider. The first iPhone is a good phone to have but if you can, wait for the second coming. There might better deals in the future.

iPhone Trademark

iPhone Trademark

Apple has already filed for the rights to the iPhone trademark. They also suggested that the company use the moniker in order for the trademark to become popular. This filing was made months before the Apple iPhone was launched on June 29 of this year.

The Apple iPhone's launch had been eagerly anticipated simply because it promised to be a mobile digital electronic device that is capable of doing what the other mobile models don't, such as sending and getting calls, faxes, email and other data such as MP3 and downloads. But it also promises to do so much more.

Apple has invested billions in order for the software to live up to the customers expectations. Surely, they have managed to do well because of the unprecedented sales of the mobile. In fact, they also struck a partnership with Cingular, asking them to only sell the mobile if the potential customer is willing to sign a 2 year contract with the provider.

However, there have been discrepancies in Apples filing for the trademark rights of the iPhone. Up to now, it is still being examined. Apple tried to get the trademark in March and also filed the same request in South Africa.

Journalists and analysts both often use iPhone to refer to Apples cell phone initiative, in order to follow up the success it received from the MAC and the iPod. Apple, though, faces more challenges in the mobile phone industry. This comes in the form of the two giants; Motorola and Nokia.

Chief executive officers of the company are already betting on the increased stocks Apple will gain because of the popularity of the mobile and they may not be wrong. In fact, they have commissioned for the prototypes that were released to their manufacturing partners which helped in getting the world the iPhone.

People who have been around Apple so long know that the company's technique is to design the handsets in such a way that it conforms with the previously released models but it leverages higher in the sense that the digital features are better than those of the mobile phones released before.

Inspired by the success of the iPod nano, the next marketing strategy for the Apple iPhone is to make it available in the candy colors which made iPods sell more. They say that they will make the iPhone available in three colors soon.

Practicality Sacrificed With iphone

The iphone has by far been the most sought after mobile phone in the country due to its features and the fact that it opened the gateway to the modern up-to-the-minute technology. But, what most buyers tend to neglect with regard to this gadget is its usability.

Keyboard Concerns

One unique feature of this mobile phone would be its distinct keyboard, it is really sleek and stylish as the way others have put it. Since it is the very means for the user to maximize its feature, its significance ought to be considered. If you intend to purchase the iphone, you may want to determine first whether the keyboard will work well for you and for your needs.

Though it is a significant criterion that has to be deliberated on, this won't be a huge problem for Apple since everyone else is apparently dazzled by its design.

Features Against Convenience

Aside from the high-tech keyboard, the iphone offers several features which the users could potentially relish or avert depending on their standards. But in general, it has reaped acclaims due to its borders and its multi-touch input technique. Its advancement in terms of its interface is implausibly natural. That is the reason why so far it has been known as a smart phone.

Apparently the creators of iphone have devoted so much time in enhancing its design, but what they overlooked was the fact that convenience should be the utmost concern of technological gadgets. True, they have included buttons which could be easily touched but the fact that proper utility wasn't explicitly renowned; it resulted in the sacrifice of its usability.

Yes, they ought to be commended for creating shortcuts to complete tasks easily, but what they failed to do is to familiarize their users with the use of the shortcuts to their advantage.

Other than placing punctuations, there is also another hidden feature which is the capacity of the user stroke the uppermost part of the safari for them to instantaneously go back to the top portion of a lengthy page, instead of flipping from the entire page which would consume too much time.

There are other features that are hidden to the users and the solution to this is left in the hands of the iphone creators who ought to take action regarding these concerns.
